Hyperia at Thorpe Park OPENING DATE Announced!

Thorpe Park has finally announced an opening date for their newest (and still under construction) roller coaster, Hyperia! When Hyperia opens on May 24, 2024, it will be the tallest and fastest coaster in the U.K., beating out The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach for tallest, and Stealth also at Thorpe Park for fastest.

A steel coaster by Mack Rides, the name Hyperia is a reference to the “hypercoaster” class (“A hypercoaster is a roller coaster with a height or drop measuring at least 200 feet (61 m).”), and a reference to Greek Mythology, with a “fearless” theme. The slogan is “find your fearless.” The coaster is painted bright white and shiny gold, with a sleek look. It differs from many of the other horror and scary themed coasters in the park, adding a fresh feel and soaring heights.

So many of us theme park enthusiasts are excited for this, and as an American who has been lucky enough to visit the major UK theme parks, I am extra excited to be able to ride and celebrate a new record breaking coaster in England!
