NEW: Disney Destiny Announced by Disney Cruise Line!

Today, Disney Cruise Line announced the newest ship coming to the fleet – The Disney Destiny! Here’s what we know so far:

Today’s announcement was made as a major milestone took place in the creation of the new ship – the keel laying ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. This ceremony is good luck in ship building, and an auspicious maritime tradition.

Portfolio Project Management Executive Philip Gennotte and Project Management Executive Mike Davie from Walt Disney Imagineering Germany celebrated the keel laying ceremony for the Disney Destiny in Papenburg, Germany. Keel laying takes place when a newly minted coin is placed under the first block for good fortune. (Disney)

Theme & Details Announced:

The Disney Destiny will be the third in the Wish Class ships. The Wish Class includes the Disney Wish, in service since 2022, the Disney Treasure, which will come into service in 2024, and the newly announced Disney Destiny, coming into service in 2025.

The Disney Destiny will be Heroes & Villains themed:

The Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering teams were inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose, when developing the Disney Destiny. Onboard, guests will encounter heroes and villains alike – including those from beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios stories like “The Lion King,” “Hercules” and “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” – within the spaces, experiences and entertainment throughout their voyage.

“The Disney Destiny is scheduled for delivery in 2025 as part of a multi-year expansion of the Disney Cruise Line fleet that includes the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, the Disney Adventure that will homeport in Singapore, and the new island destination in The Bahamas, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.” (Disney)
