Today marks the 5-year anniversary of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Walt Disney World released a cool new poster full of easter eggs and references to the ride and back stories for us to zoom in on and enjoy!
Opened on March 4, 2020, and replacing the beloved Great Movie Ride in the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre building, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a unique trackless dark ride, with a mix of physical sets and animatronics, projection mapping, and lots of movement! The ride takes guests on a hilarious train ride, with Goofy as the train conductor, through multiple comedic scenes of Mickey and Minnie trying to get their picnic back on “track.”
One of my favorite unique parts of this attraction is how the audience enters through the blown up movie screen, and becomes part of the cartoon!
We were there on opening day and it was a very exciting experience!
