Disney Cruise Line has shared details about Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point! Let’s explore this new DCL destination together!
Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a private peninsula in The Bahamas, exclusively for DCL sailings. Unlike Castaway Cay, which is Disney Cruise Line’s private island in The Bahamas, Lookout Cay is a peninsula, not a full island. It is located in South Eleuthera.
“Where Magic Meets the Beauty and Culture of The Bahamas”
This is Disney’s second exclusive DCL destination in The Bahamas, the first being Castaway Cay. In 2019, The Walt Disney Company purchased the peninsula, and the first sailings that will visit Lookout Cay will be in summer 2024.
The design of the island is inspired by the beauty of nature, the natural surroundings of culture of The Bahamas.
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point pays tribute to the beauty of nature, which gives shape to every architectural detail. Nature’s influence can be seen in the curvy, organic shapes and vibrant colors of the architecture inspired by plants and shells from around the island.
Community and collaboration are also a shaping force. Across the island and around The Bahamas, we’ve partnered with artists, historians and cultural ambassadors to bring Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point to life. Recreational and water areas have been infused with the colors, music and festive spirit of the Bahamian street parade, Junkanoo. Murals, sculptures and other designs created by Bahamian artists, including some from Eleuthera, are integrated into gathering spaces and cabanas.
Let’s take a look at some of the concept art that has been released:
We can see a central area, featuring the Goombay Cultural Center, as well as sandy beaches, beachside cabanas which can be rented for an additional charge, dining areas, and water play areas. Disney has said the area will feature areas for kids and adults-only areas.
We’re excited to visit Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point and share all the details with you, so stay tuned! In the meantime, you can enjoy all of our cruise vlogs and blogs!
