Universal UK theme park project MIGHT be in the works!

This week, Universal Destinations & Experiences has responded to rumors of purchasing land in the United Kingdom to build a Universal Studios UK theme park, by creating a website detailing the purchase and their plans.

This isn’t the first time rumors about a US theme park giant opening a UK theme park have surfaced (remember UK Disneyland rumors popping up every few years?), but the official response from Universal and the new official website put some serious weight behind this. The website is called Universal UK Project, and shares the information on this potential new project so far.

For now, this project is still in its infancy, a land purchase and some exploration.

Here is what Universal has to say on the state of this potential theme park project:

“Universal Destinations & Experiences is at the very early stages of exploring the feasibility of a potential park and resort experience in Bedford, England. Whilst our parent company, Comcast Corporation, has purchased a parcel of land near Bedford, it will be some time before we decide whether this potential project will proceed.”

In their own words, it will be some time before any decisions are made about building a Universal Studios theme park in the UK, but the excitement and hope amongst theme park fans around the world is very real for a potential Universal Great Britain UK theme park!
