If you’re looking for a fun, casual dining experience where you can meet and interact with characters at Universal Orlando Resort, you’ve come to the right place! This is my review of the BEST character dining at Universal Orlando Resort, that is available in 2024, in my opinion – Marvel Character Dining!
Character Dining at Universal Orlando:
There have been several different character dining experiences at Universal Orlando through the years, but in 2024 there are only a few, and by far the best and most consistently available is the Marvel Character Dining experience at Cafe 4! Now, I will note that The Grinch and Friends Character Breakfast is extremely popular, and an excellent way to beat the looooooooong lines to meet The Grinch during the holidays at Universal, however that only takes place during the holiday season and is very limited. This past December, we saw waits of up to 3, 4, 5 and even 6 hours to meet The Grinch, so this breakfast could be a great way to get your photos and fun interactions without spending half a park day in line. (Of course, I also highly recommend watching the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, don’t miss it. It’s totally free to park guests (included with your admission) and is such a high quality show).

Now, as much as we love The Grinch, we are here today to talk about Marvel Character dining, so let’s get to it!
Marvel Character Dining at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure:
This character dining experience requires advance reservation and takes place at Cafe 4 in Islands of Adventure, it’s all Marvel themed so it really gets you in the zone! Theme park admission is separate so you’ll still need a park ticket, annual pass, some form of admission. It also includes digital photos taken with the characters.
This meal, at about $52 per adult and $30 per child, is ALL YOU CARE TO EAT, and features simple foods that are meant to please any palate. Pizza, pasta, sliders, various carved meats, veggies, salads, orzo and a nice assortment of things. Cafe 4 is generally a pizza and pasta eatery so it goes with that theme. Soft drinks are also included. The food is served cafeteria style; you grab a tray, and take as much or as little as you want from each station, and you can go back up and grab more of whatever you want. There are also cookies and treats when it’s time for dessert.
The whole thing felt very casual, family-friendly, with lots of laughs and the characters interacting with each other too! It’s not a stuffy, high end meal, it’s a casual, relaxed, fun and silly atmosphere. So come in ready to relax and have fun!

These kinds of offerings can often change from year to year, so this is full and complete as of the time of writing, but always double check any details you may have questions about, and keep an open mind and be ready for any possible changes.
