In today’s blog post, I figured I would introduce myself for those who may be new, or re-introduce myself as a reminder for anyone curious. So please enjoy a Super Enthused introduction…
My name is Jackie and I was born and raised in Miami, FL and currently live in Orlando. In 2017, I started a YouTube channel called Super Enthused to share the things I’m passionate about – visits to theme parks, fun things to do in Florida, travels, renaissance festivals, historic places, and more. I actually started out blogging a few years before that, and my YouTube channel was me making video versions of the travel blogs I was already doing. This is why I’m fine calling myself a “vlogger,” because I consider what I do making “video blogs.” I vlog on YouTube, making long form videos that I consider my little personal DIY travel and theme park channel. Making videos that invite you to come along with me to hang out and do special things at special places. I had a little joke with myself my YouTube channel was my personal “Wayne’s World,” my travel & theme park adventure cable access show.
I do all of this with a sense of humor, a sense of fun, and to share the things I’m passionate about and interested in. To me, it’s a very simple and pure thing. I mind my business, make my videos, and try to maintain balance in life. There are many different types of “content creator” nowadays (I don’t love that term, but that’s another story). Personally, my goal is to make videos sharing my experiences, simply being myself, and that’s why I’m happy being a vlogger. It gives me the freedom to just do my thing, and share a wide variety of fun travel videos, without trapping myself in too tight of a niche. It also allows me to march to the beat of my own drum. I’ve seen so many trends come and go, but I’ve remained consistent in the type of thing I love to create.
And what I love is filming and editing long form vlogs, sharing my experiences doing things I love, including my tips, reviews, hidden details, the things that are so often overlooked, beautiful and whimsical moments, cool travel destinations, both popular and lesser known; exploring and trying new things, sharing the resorts I stay at, the foods I try, the places I go, so that others who may wish to go there can be prepared and maybe even get excited to visit, and those who can’t visit these places, can travel there virtually with me. Over the years, I’ve developed my own style that I’m very happy with, yet of course I’m always striving to learn and improve, and hope to continue evolving over time!
I think it’s important to allow yourself to enjoy things, to unabashedly share what brings you joy, and to encourage others to seek out their joy as well. Whatever we can do to encourage each other to enjoy our hobbies, interests and interesting things out there in the world, is a good thing for all of us!
Now, I don’t take myself too seriously here, I can laugh at myself and this strange world we live in, but what I do take seriously is doing this with all my heart, and marching to the beat of my own drum. One thing I’ve learned over the years is, we don’t have to follow trends or do what anyone else is doing, or deny ourselves things we enjoy just because they’re popular at any give time. Either way, it’s about enjoying this world, sharing what we enjoy, and connecting with a larger community of fellow enthusiasts. The more we can connect and share good things, the better off we all are. And that’s that.
If you have any questions, feel free to comment and ask (I noticed comments weren’t working here, but I’ve tried to fix it… if that doesn’t work, you can always comment over on YouTube).
