Part I: HHN 33 House Announcements Mega Blog – All Original Houses!
Halloween Horror Nights 2024 will take place on select nights from August 30-Nov 3 at Universal Studios Florida.
As a premier theme park Halloween event, Halloween Horror Nights, often shortened to HHN, takes place at Universal parks around the world. This blog post is focused on the event held at Universal Orland Resort.
Each year, fans of HHN get excited for announcements of the ten haunted houses to be featured that year. In 2024, I will be…. housing…. the house announcements here in this blog as they happen!
Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) is in its 33rd year at Universal Orlando Resort. They always have a blend of IP (intellectual property, like Stranger Things, Blumhouse, Ghostbusters, popular horror shows, movies, video games, etc.), and totally original stories. Usually the first announcements are the big IP’s, so this move of releasing the original houses first is refreshing and exciting!!
By the time all announcements are complete, we should have 10 haunted houses, 5 scare zones, and at least one show announced for HHN 33! In this post, I will focus on the all-original house announcements and update this post as each is released, so here we go:

House Announcements:
First announcement: Slaughter Sinema 2
On May 17th, Slaughter Sinema 2 was announced for HHN 33. This is a sequel to an all original house that first appeared in 2018. The premise is that you’re visiting the Carey Drive-In (Carey, Ohio is a running theme in HHN lore, check out my video where we visited the real Carey, OH: https://youtu.be/9Q4mcJ4IX-4?si=BfNWFamSy6GLDfv_). Except this drive-in theater shows scary movies that you walk through!
They have announced one of the “movies” will be Heavy Metal Hell 3-D.
Announcement 2: Goblin’s Feast
On May 20, Goblin’s Feast was announced! This is another all original concept, and one that I ADORE!!! I love all things spooky fairytale creature themed, and this one will take us to the Goblin’s Feast Tavern and will feature goblins, orcs, hobgoblins and witches! Sounds like classic Halloween spooky fun!
Announcement 3: Major Sweets Candy Factory
On May 21, Major Sweets Candy Factory was announced for HHN 33. This is another sequel of-sorts, as it’s a follow up to an all original scare zone from 2022 (HHN 31), called Sweet Revenge. We can see the same character featured in the logo, giving us a menacing wink, and he’s got Lil’ Boo on his hat! Loving these call-backs and tie-ins!
Announcement 4: The Museum: Deadly Exhibits
On May 22, The Museum: Deadly Exhibit was announced. Guests will enter a museum to see the new folklore exhibit, The Rotting Stone. But from within the stone, an evil escapes, causing destruction! Love a good museum theme, we are getting some strong original stories and an announcement every day this week so far!!!
Announcement 5: Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America
On May 23rd, while I was at Universal Studios Florida for the Passholder preview of the new Summer Tribute Store (themed to a 1980s mall with video rental store, arcade and theater – you can find my vlog of this at www.YouTube.com/superenthused), we got our 3rd announcement. Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America, which is a house that was first featured at HHN Hollywood in 2023. This will be Orlando’s take on this concept. Fun facts about me: I’m Hispanic and I love folklore, urban legends and tales from beyond, especially from cultures around the world! So I’m very happy to see this house and see what Orlando does make it their own.
Announcement 6: Triplets of Terror
On May 24, another all original house was announced! This makes 6 original concept houses for HHN 33! Triplets of Terror will feature the Barmy triplets gory birthday bash. We don’t know much else about this besides the terrifying looking masks they’re wearing and the ominous looking party!
… And with that, we’ve got a strong lineup of original stories to explore! Next up, we should expect the slate of houses that will be based on popular horror movies, shows, etc. ….
