Happy Mardi Gras 2024 & Happy Pancake Cake… and Happy Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening announcement day (sort of)!

Today, Disney Parks reveled that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open summer 2024 (no exact opening date yet, or even month, just summer) and gave us a look at the brand new animatronic of Tiana in her new outfit for the attraction. This new audio animatronic has fluid movements, and a smooth, beautiful finish. It looks like a living animated Tiana, and is a vast improvement over the audio animatronics we’ve seen in recent years with the backlit faces (like the ones in the Frozen Ever After ride at EPCOT or the dwarfs in Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom).
The 50-foot drop is a key feature of the attraction, but what truly makes this log Flum unique is that is is more than a log flume, it is a fully themed dark ride, with Disney quality storytelling, music and atmosphere. There will be a new soundtrack featuring original music, and music from the film, The Princess and the Frog.

Just beautiful! We love these kinds of behind the scenes images and hope that more theme parks share them for new attractions! No one does animatronic characters like Disney Parks, and I would love to see more theme parks get into this world with more dark rides, rich theming and audio animatronics.
Here is a video clip with Charita Carter, Executive Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering, showing us the Tiana animationic that is to be installed in the ride.
I would love to see this type of animatronic replace those found in Frozen Ever After, as those backlit face ones often malfunction and are strange even when functioning properly. Are you as excited for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to open as I am?
