Halloween Horror Nights 2025 has OPENED!

As we’ve been gearing up for the Halloween Horror Night 2025 season at Universal Orlando Resort, we’ve watched the park being transformed as the scare zones came to life with props, decorations and amazing scenes and sets. And as of this weekend, we were able to see inside the 10 amazing houses and experience both shows as well!

Halloween Horror Nights 2025 has 10 houses, 4 scare zones, 2 all new street experiences, 2 shows, and multiple highly themed food booths! Let’s talk about opening weekend, starting with Premium Scream Night and Opening Night!

Opening Night HHN 2025

On August 29, 2025, Halloween Horror Nights officially fully opened for the season! The event this year runs from August 29 – November 2. Opening night was an absolute blast this year. One of the most impressive things about this event is that every single year, they build completely new houses and scare zones, from scratch! 10 new houses, and this year, 4 full scare zones, 2 street experiences, and 2 incredible shows.

On opening night, we did all 10 houses, enjoyed Nightmare Fuel, the scare zones, and took in every moment!

Stay & Scream

One major change from previous years is Stay and Scream, or Scream Early. Guests who have any kind of day ticket, whether an annual pass, regular or multi day ticket, or who purchase a Scream Early ticket, can enter the park during the day and start enjoying the event a few hours before it even opens. As annual passholders, we ALWAYS make use of this option, and I constantly recommend it as a great way to get the most done in an evening! In years past, they closed off certain sections of the park for Stay & Scream, and you were sort of penned in. From there, you could choose to stay in the sectioned off area, where there were usually some food and drink options, or you could get straight into line for the most popular houses, to get them done before the front gates even opened. But, for 2025, the pens are gone! Stay & Scream guests can roam freely around the park, hang out, have food, drinks, enjoy rides, do whatever, or get straight into line for a house. Some of those lines are now inside sound stages, which is nice! This system is a vast improvement in my opinion. We love roaming around freely and all the options. You can even start getting HHN food during this time. Some of the houses open as early as 5:15, so you’ve got a huge head start on the front gates.

Premium Scream Night 2025

On August 28, 2025, the night before opening night, Premium Scream Night took place for its second year in a row, and we were there! This event takes place one night early and features unlimited food, lower crowds and other perks. As expected, this specialty ticketed event seemed twice as popular as the first year back in 2024.

When we attended that first year in 2024, it felt like we had the park almost all to ourselves. The event was brand new and people didn’t know what to expect, so it felt like a. lot of people held off on buying tickets. It was magnificent, such low crowds, going through the houses with just your party, the themed food all over the park was all included with the price of ticket of the event, the vibes were great. After that first event, the reviews came in so strongly, so that for this second year, it felt like EVERYONE bought tickets! Felt like at least twice the amount of people, food lines got longer, more people in lines for the houses, more people overall. We were strategic and bopped around to the shortest lines, had an amazing time, tried a ton of food, talked to tons of people, and were able to feel like we had the scare zones all to ourselves! They spaced out guests in the houses so we had a lot of space to ourselves too which was amazing!

One big change for 2025, is guests were allowed to wear costumes to HHN for the first time ever, so we had to dress up! We chose a previous scare zone, Vamp 85, and dressed as 80s vampires. It was so fun, and we loved seeing other people dressed up too. Another new addition was they added some panels where HHN creators talked about the event and shared some behind the scenes info.

Overall, we had a fantastic time and plan to attend next year if they do it again! For super passionate HHN fans who are able to swing it, it’s still an amazing experience. When you compare the lines of crowds of that night to those of a regular night, there’s a drastic difference. One tip, we got our tickets early before the price increased, and used our passholder discount!

Because this event is inclusive when it comes to HHN themed food, we were able to try a ton of the specialty food, which you can see in the video from that night: https://youtu.be/E16Wn9eJz1s

Overall, opening weekend was a whirlwind of fun, and we attended the next night to take in even more! We always get Frequent Fear passes, as we’re locals and huge fans of the event, so we’ll be visiting all throughout the season. Hope you enjoy my videos and enjoying all the fun with us!!
