Everything we ate in a day at Universal Epic Universe during the first day of passholder previews! DARK UNIVERSE FOOD & DRINKS
In Dark Universe (our favorite world, by the way), we tried the Hunter’s Garlic Stake and the Burning Cheddar Bites for food, and the Pure of Heart for a drink! We loved them both and devoured them while talking to The Hounds, who shared a lot of the lore of Darkmoor and Dracula with us – you’ll learn the whole story in my vlog!!
The Hunter’s Garlic Stake is sooooo garlic-y (to protect you from vampires), the bread is shaped like a stake, soft and warm, and we loved it. The sauce didn’t add much and wasn’t needed, the stakes alone are delicious and share-able!
The Burning Cheddar Bites reminded me of jalapeño poppers or something like that, just SO TASTY!!! So cheesy, a little bit of kick, and a fun decadent theme park snack.
The Pure of Heart drink (ingredients: Misguided Spirits Hinky Dink’s Workingman’s Whiskey, The Bitter Truth Violet liqueur, DeKuyper Creme de Cassis, lime juice, pineapple juice, honey syrup, blackberry essense, topped with ginger beer) was tasty and fresh, it was more of a fun experience, and we learned more about how it protects you from becoming a Werewolf from The Hounds! The presentation is half the fun, and the ginger beer is the strongest flavor. It’s really good!
HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON ISLE OF BERK FOOD
In Berk, we tried the popular Goldfish Mac & Cheese Cone from Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel, and it’s such a fun, tasty treat! It’s a bread rolled around a huge cone of creamy Mac & cheese, topped with crunchy Goldfish! It’s a lot of carbs, my friends, but hey, you gotta carbo load to ride dragons and do viking stuff. We shared it with a group and really enjoyed it, it’s comfort food I’d say!
WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER MINISTRY OF MAGIC FOOD
In the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, we tried the Butterbeer Crepe (Bièraubeurre Crepe) and Quiche Lorraine from Café L’air De La Sirène.
The Butterbeer crepe is a huge portion, and the butterscotch taste reigns supreme. It’s tasty, sweet, shareable with a pretty presentation. We sat inside as the outside seating was in high demand, but if you can grab a seat on the outdoor patio, it’s really cool as you’re inside Wizarding Paris! The inside is very pretty too. We mobile ordered from our table and the food was brought to our table.
The Quiche Lorraine was a nicely made, soft with thick, creamy sauce. Sam’s review is: tastes exactly how you imagine a quiche lorraine would in Europe (Sam is British, by the way, and has traveled all over Europe). Very good!
