NEW at Disney World – The Hatbox Ghost materializes in the Haunted Mansion! Let’s see how he looks, his placement, and also enjoy a fun day at Magic Kingdom riding TRON Lightcycle Run and meeting characters! Read on…
Earlier this year, Walt Disney World announced that the beloved Hatbox Ghost character would be coming to the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom in late November. Well, they really kept to that timeline, as we found out yesterday, Hattie materialized in front of the endless hallway on the last day of November 2023! Of course, Haunted Mansion being my favorite ride and one of my earliest theme park memories, I had to go out and see for myself, and enjoy a lovely day at Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Florida!
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about his placement in the Mansion with regards to the story, him appearing before the seance with Madame Leota. Some equate this to his new story in the 2023 Haunted Mansion film, but I see the ride story as different from any movies, books or other materials. There are so many different versions of the stories now that the ride should stand alone. Either way, once I saw his impressive figure, and just how cool he looks, I was satisfied with his placement as one of the 999 Happy Haunts in our beloved ghostly retreat!
